Visit from the Auckland Museum

We were very lucky to get a visit from the volcano experts from the Auckland Museum. They came to our school to talk to us about volcanoes. It was excellent timing because our inquiry this term was focussed on natural disasters so we were able to share our current learning with them as well as find out some awesome facts. We also practised packing our own emergency survival packs.

Some of the things that we discussed included:
- Identifying the volcanoes that were close to Panmure (Panmure Basin).
- The different types of volcanic eruptions.
- The rocks that are formed from the different types of volcanic eruptions.
